Clear Bag Policy

Due to the recent requests from tour security for increased fan screening, we are instituting a CLEAR BAG POLICY. This is a policy that has been implemented at other venues across the country along with all NFL stadiums.

CLEAR BAG POLICY:

Fans arriving to our venues must have bags that are in compliance with the clear bag policy. Bags that are not in compliance will not be stored and must be returned to the patron’s vehicle. A description of the style and size of the bags that will be allowed is below:

  • Bags that are clear (see through) plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”
  • 
One-gallon clear (see through) plastic freezer bag or similar

  • Small clutch bags, not to exceed 8” x 5” x 2” (approximately the size of a hand), with or without a handle or strap, may be carried into the venue along with one of the clear bag options

AGE RESTRICTIONS
This event is all ages and it is up to the parent/ guardian's discretion - Children under 3 years old are free. Children 3 years and older will need a ticket. These concerts are LOUD - please make sure that your children and yourself are wearing proper hearing protection.

BOX OFFICE/ TICKETING
Box office is located at the entrance to the Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion
Box office will only be open on event days (Saturday July 22 & Sunday July 23) beginning at 10:30AM EST
You must bring a valid photo ID with you to the box office in order to retrieve tickets or credentials. Tickets may only be picked up by the original buyer with valid photo ID.

WEATHER POLICY
The event will take place RAIN OR SHINE. In the event of threatening weather (lightning, thunder, other acts of the devil), you will be required to evacuate the venue immediately, until authorities deem is safe to re-enter. 
For updates and information during an evacuation - please refer to Waterfront Concerts social media channels, local news and radio
Once authorities deem it safe, the event will resume and you will be directed back to the venue for re-entry
There will be NO refunds
If needed, ask for assistance and information from Security Members*, police, and medical personnel 
The Darling's Waterfront Pavilion rarely cancels or postpones events due to inclement weather. Please be advised that tickets for all events are sold on a non-refundable and non-exchangeable basis.

SAFETY & MEDICAL
We make every effort to create a safe and secure environment at RISE ABOVE FEST. On-site security and emergency medical staff will be available during all festival hours. If you need any assistance, go to the nearest police officer or staff member for assistance. Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s) are available at every event for medical emergencies.

NO RE-ENTRY 
All exits are final. Festival Goers are not permitted to leave the festival grounds (venue) and then re-enter the same day.

Beyond providing rock fans with an incredible line-up, the goal of the festival is to bring awareness to this global epidemic and reduce the stigma surrounding depression and mental illness All proceeds from the festival will go to SAVE (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education).

Due to overwhelming demand, #RiseAboveFest has now evolved into a TWO-DAY event! The 2017 Rise Above fest will take place at the Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion on Saturday, July 22nd and Sunday July 23rd as part of the Machias Saving’s Bank Concert Series!

#RiseAboveFest will also be offering fans a METAL CAMP accommodation option for those looking to camp out and rock out all weekend long.

The Rise Above Festival will raise money for SAVE (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education), one of the leading national not-for profit organizations dedicated to raising awareness and educating the public about mental health and suicide prevention in order to SAVE lives. “The Rise Above Fest has become the musical voice for our nation that mental health and suicide prevention are important to everyone,” said Dr. Dan Reidenberg, Executive Director of SAVE.  “SAVE is grateful to Seether’s inspiration to make a difference in the world and to all of the bands who are helping spread the message that for those struggling with emotional pain and suicidal thoughts, you too can Rise Above This.”

The festival’s name is taken from the song, “Rise Above This,” which Seether front man Shaun Morgan wrote as a message to his brother.  His brother took his own life eight years ago before he ever got a chance to hear it and it was that experience that brought about the creation of Rise Above Fest.  Since then, the Rise Above Festival has featured performances by Avenged Sevenfold, Hellyeah, Godsmack, Slash, Papa Roach and more, making it the largest suicide awareness music fundraiser in the world.
